Roushon Ara, a determined woman from Purba Dayarampur, Vashanchar, was struggling to make ends meet while managing household duties and helping with her family’s small farm. As a member of the Trisha Mohila Samiti (Trisha Women’s Group) under FDA Faridpur Sadar Branch, she dreamed of expanding her farming activities to secure a better future for her children.
With an agricultural loan from FDA, Roushon leased additional land and diversified her crops, cultivating turmeric, chili, rice, and seasonal vegetables. Her hard work and smart farming techniques paid off—within a year, her yields increased, and she began earning a steady profit.
Today, Roushon not only contributes significantly to her family’s income but also serves as an inspiration to other women in her community. Her success demonstrates how access to microfinance and training can transform subsistence farming into a thriving livelihood, paving the way for rural women’s economic empowerment.
“FDA’s support gave me the courage to dream bigger. Now, I can provide a better life for my family,” says Roushon with pride.
